Bio

Brad Mehl is President of Boundless Markets, a hands on consultancy that accelerates growth for B2B companies. He has been a mentor to DreamIt Ventures, an accelerator of start-ups, and recently joined the Board of Directors of Asentra, one of the fastest growing private companies on the Inc. 500 list.

As Vice President of Marketing and Audience Development at Penton, a $300MM+ business information company, Brad led the digital transformation of marketing for 60 brands in 15 B2B markets.  He oversaw a 50+ person group that supported a 50% increase in digital revenue.  He also ran analytics and the market research business which provided thought leadership and insights to FORTUNE 500 clients.

Prior to Penton he was Vice President and General Manager of ThomasNet, a $150MM+ marketing platform for manufacturing companies. There he revamped the flagship product, built a vibrant online community and launched analytics tools for thousands of clients.

For several years he led marketing and business development functions at divisions of LexisNexis, a $2 billion company, where he won three awards for excellence. There he helped create the software business, currently a $100MM division. He led marketing, product strategy and channel sales in the formation of that business. He also led marketing and business development for Lawyers.com/Martindale-Hubbell which grew revenue by 55% to $170MM.  In a General Manager role, he also led the revenue turnaround of the Specialty Products group.

In the late 1990’s, he was VP of Marketing at Bolt, one of the first social networks on the web, where he tripled the audience, built buzz for the company and positioned it for an IPO filing.  Prior to that he ran marketing and was GM of International Business at CDNOW, the leading music retailer on the Internet at the time (absorbed into Amazon.com) where revenue grew from $6 million to $100+ million.  There he helped raise capital, built the marketing operation and team from the ground up and acquired 3 million customers, helping position the company for a successful IPO.

Earlier in his career, Brad held in positions at Time Inc. and Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising, where he was the strategic planner on Procter & Gamble brands.  He holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU and a B.S. from Cornell University.   He has served on the advisory boards of Interwoven and several start-ups.  Currently he is a communications advisor to a a U.S. Congressional campaign.
